Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

Menu Scan (the "Platform") provides restaurant management services: digital menus, orders, point of sale and related tools. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it, whether you are a subscribing restaurant owner or a guest browsing a restaurant's menu.

What we collect from restaurant owners

  • Account data: restaurant name, email, phone number, logo and brand colours.
  • Operating data: menus, dishes and prices, orders and payments inside the system, inventory, and staff accounts.
  • Technical logs to run and secure the service.

What we collect from restaurant guests

  • The details of the order you send (dishes, notes, table number or delivery address if you enter one).
  • Your phone number if you enter it when ordering or reviewing — used to link your orders and reviews at that same restaurant and to analyse orders for its benefit.
  • The ratings and comments you send to a restaurant's review page.

How we use the data

  • Running the service: delivering the order to the kitchen and cashier, and producing invoices and reports for the restaurant.
  • Helping the restaurant understand its guests (analysing the most-ordered items and ordering behaviour).
  • Contacting you when you write to us through the contact form.

Who can see the data

  • Each restaurant's orders and guest data are visible to that restaurant alone; no other restaurant can see them.
  • The Platform's operations team may access data for technical support only, and any such access is logged and restricted.
  • We do not sell your data or share it with any third party for marketing.

Keeping and deleting data

  • A restaurant's data is kept for as long as its subscription runs, and is not deleted the moment a subscription ends, so it can come back.
  • A restaurant owner may ask to have their account and data permanently deleted by contacting us.
  • A guest of any restaurant may ask us to delete their phone number and reviews by contacting us.

Security

We use suitable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including restricting permissions inside the system and logging sensitive operations. Still, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so please tell us at once about any security concern at info@menuscaniq.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will always show the date of the last update at the top of the page. Continuing to use the Platform after an update means you have read it.
